XCEL ENERGY COMMUNITY POWER PLAY
We’re proud to share that the Minnesota Wild Community Foundation, through the Play It Forward Initiative and the Xcel Energy Community Power Play Grant, has made a generous $10,000 donation to support our ongoing fundraising efforts for Richfield’s Little Spartans Hockey programming.
This gift marks an incredible moment for our mission to bring hockey opportunities back to the Richfield community. The Power Play initiative, presented by Xcel Energy, celebrates every Wild power play goal scored at Xcel Energy Center by turning it into support for local organizations dedicated to growing the game and strengthening communities.
Building a Stronger Hockey Community
The donation will directly fund ice time, coaching, and equipment for the Little Spartans Hockey program, helping more kids get IN the game. The Richfield program continues to serve as a cornerstone for accessible youth hockey, fostering confidence, teamwork, and leadership through every shift on the ice.

For just $100 per player, a fraction of the usual cost for such programs, the 12-week hockey initiative offers more than just sports education. Led by high-level coaches dedicated to nurturing talent and character, each participant gains access to 2 one-hour ice sessions per week.
