ABOUT THE ATHLETE

Age: 9
Sports Played: Hockey
Home State: Minnesota
Kasir McWright, a dedicated 9-year-old hockey player, began his journey at age 7 through the Wild Hockey Is For Me Program. Despite starting later than his peers, his passion and hard work have made him a skilled player and a devoted Minnesota Wild fan. Kasir is actively involved in the Mosaic Hockey Collective, which supports minority players. He aims to join the advanced Squirts team next season but needs financial assistance for new equipment and fees. This scholarship will help him continue to grow in the sport and achieve his goals both on and off the ice.
“I started playing hockey when I was 7 through the Wild Hockey Is For Me Program. My dad worked at the XCEL and that is how it all started! I immediately loved the game and have become a big WILD fan! Even though I started hockey late, I have worked hard and become a very good player. I plan to train really hard over this summer so I can try to make the advanced team when I try out for Squirts next season.”
